I feel like I’ve been having that kind of time lately…
Sometimes the weeks go by and I’m just focused on healing, reminding myself to pick a day to rest because I don’t want my body to pick one for me.
And then sometimes all of my plans and/or friends or work plans collide into a crazy, chaotic time and I’m just barely able to make it through the day.
TX #55 was on August 7th.
This was my first treatment after a delay of five weeks due to insurance issues.
The transition off Medicaid was painful but necessary.
Thank you to everyone who listened to me vent and talk about the HOURS I spent dealing with my insurance company and Nevada Health Link…
Getting absolutely nowhere.
Oftentimes I think about how much time I have wasted on cancer.
These are the little things that add up and build up over time.
Usually I try my best to put on a happy face, but lately I’ve been feeling like everything is out of my control.
And being a crazy Virgo π I just have to try to manage my emotions as best as I can.
I’m happy to say that I JUST found out today that my insurance issues have finally been fixed! π
I received financial assistance that will help cover my treatment costs.
I’m so grateful to the financial office at my cancer center for helping me apply, and I’m so grateful to everyone who supported me through all of this…
My MBC group and my friends. π₯°
I also want to learn from this experience.
Hopefully if I ever have to deal with insurance issues again, I can remind myself of the bigger picture and try not to stress myself out so much.
Before seeing my oncologist last week, I was checking in and telling the medical assistant about my insurance nightmare.
Then she took my blood pressure.
198/124. π±
I’ve added a new mantra to my daily meditation and tapping:
βOne of the best lessons you can learn in life is to master how to remain calm.β
TX #56 was on Monday…
And WHAT a crazy and chaotic week this was.
Saturday we had a pretty intense situation at work that ended with the police getting involved.
Sunday…
I TOOK THE TWINS TO BEYONCΓ!
We had SO MUCH FUN.
But I forgot how crazy and chaotic going to concerts can be. π
Treatment on Monday.
Then work events Tuesday and Wednesday.
ABSOLUTE MAYHEM.
This was also our last week at our current location because my workplace is moving!
Yesterday was the big move.
And I’m just SO glad I survived this week.
I’m definitely staying in and resting for the rest of this holiday weekend.
In the meantime…
Apparently my coping mechanism is to rewatch all of my favorite END-OF-THE-WORLD MOVIES. π
2012.
The Day After Tomorrow.
Deep Impact.
Contagion.
World War Z.
I Am Legend.
And next month…
I’M STARTING GRAD SCHOOL!
Grand Canyon University!
I’m kind of nervous but also very excited and looking forward to starting my Master’s in Social Work.
Wish me luck!
LOPES UP!
XOXO π
