I remember 9/11/2001 just like it was yesterday.
I was living in Oakland and working in downtown San Francisco, across from Two Embarcadero. It was creepy driving across the Bay Bridge with absolutely no traffic. I felt like I was in a zombie apocalypse movie.
I also remember thinking that day:
I wonder what it will be like 20 years from now.
And here we are.
Can you believe it’s the 20th anniversary?
I’ve been watching all the documentaries this week, and they are so moving and powerful.
We must never forget 9/11.
So…
I HAVE AMAZING NEWS!!!
I got the results from my last PET scan and there is:
NO ACTIVE CANCER!!!!! 🙏
I feel so relieved, happy and blessed—and most importantly, incredibly grateful and thankful to my family and friends for all the support, prayers and understanding.
The results from my very first PET scan were frightening.

I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.
I had two tumors in my breast. One was 3.4 x 2.1 cm and the other smaller one was 1 cm.
There were several tumors in the lymph nodes in my left armpit area and a worrisome one in my neck above my collarbone.
That one really scared me because I could actually feel it.
It was a hard lump, and at first I thought it was my bone.
And then there were at least three lesions in my liver.
That’s when I knew the cancer had metastasized.
Even without a medical background, I could read enough of that scan report to know that it was bad.
It scared me so much.
I felt sad and hopeless.
Fast-forward to today…
And this is what a GOOD SCAN looks like:
“No local tumor recurrence or metastatic disease.”
