Today is Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness Day.
In November 2019, at age 45, I was diagnosed de novo with Stage IV metastatic breast cancer. That means my cancer had already spread beyond my breast by the time I was diagnosed.
Almost seven years later, I’m still here. Still receiving treatment every three weeks. And still figuring out what it means to live with metastatic breast cancer.
One of the reasons I started Every Three Weeks was to share what life with MBC actually looks like—the good, the bad, the side effucks, and everything in between.
Earlier this year, I had the opportunity to share my story with Living Beyond Breast Cancer (LBBC), an organization that has become an important part of my advocacy journey.
Today feels like the perfect day to share it here, too.

Because metastatic breast cancer is part of my life. But it isn’t my entire life.
